We recently sat down with one of our families, Sheri and Lo Mielke, to reflect on their experience with us. In our heartfelt conversation, they shared about their first time coming out to Seven Stones and simply taking it all in. We talked about how our natural environment, and the closeness of the High Line Canal, were deciding factors in choosing a resting place for Sheri’s mom & dad…and eventually for the whole family. They described a deep sense of peace in those early moments, as if the land itself was offering reassurance and a feeling of coming home.

There have been signs along the way, too, like sightings of bald eagles and a peregrine falcon that holds special meaning for the couple. Lo and Sheri added that beyond the beautiful landscape and the caring team at Seven Stones, they also discovered a sense of community through attending events like Time & Togetherness and the Lavender Harvest. These shared moments, surrounded by nature and others who value remembrance in meaningful ways, have only deepened their connection to this sacred garden. Watch the full video to hear from the Mielkes what makes our botanical gardens cemetery their top choice.

Thank you, Sheri and Lo for your kind words and willingness to share your story! We are honored and blessed to have you as members of our Seven Stones family.
