Plans For a New Structure
During the last six months, have you wondered about the new structure on the South side of the gardens?
Well, it’s our new Garden Mausoleum, a beautiful and thoughtfully designed space for above-ground casket & cremation placement.
Since the inception of Seven Stones we’ve had plans for a Garden Mausoleum, however our building plans were put on hold until inquiries & interest grew.
In late 2016, shortly after we started serving families, our first interested client purchased with the knowledge that if she passed away prior to the Garden Mausoleum being built, her second choice was green burial in the Meadow. Now, there is no need for her to settle on her Plan B.
Then in 2021, a second family came to us requesting a Garden Mausoleum space. We knew it was now time to tackle this project and bring an above-ground casket option to our list of unique memorials. Inspired by a renewed interest in a Garden Mausoleum, our design team and contractors got to work to make this concept a reality.
During construction in December 2024, another family visited and said the Garden Mausoleum was an answer to their prayers. They knew they wanted to be at Seven Stones, but when they first visited a few years ago, we did not have this option to show them. They were pleasantly surprised to see one under construction and almost completed.
The New Lightstone Garden Mausoleum
This Garden Mausoleum, named Lightstone and located in our new Promontory Plaza Garden, is crafted with care and artistry. It features walls of Colorado sandstone, elegant mahogany granite, and a rustic slanted metal roof softened by a tongue & grove wood accent seamlessly integrating into the natural beauty of our Seven Stones gardens. Each element was chosen to enhance the serene and timeless space, offering families another meaningful choice to honor their loved ones.
Doug Flin from Life Remembrance and a Seven Stones Founding Partner led the design team and served as the GM on this project. Our very own Seven Stones team worked to prepare the ground and build the foundation along with Jaime Segura from Sculpture Landscapes. Jaime has worked on other key projects for Seven Stones. This team’s dedication to excellence is reflected in every detail of the Lightstone Garden Mausoleum.
Promises made, promises kept! We strive every day to ensure we are creating what appeals to our families.
We served two of our three families this month in the new Lightstone Garden Mausoleum, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to providing thoughtful and unique memorial options for our families.
We’re honored to bring this new feature to our community. Keep your eyes open for new plantings that will go in around the new Mausoleum when the weather becomes conducive.
